Putting on the FRITZ...Goodwood Breakfast Club

Today Fritz went to Goodwood, a large estate in the heart of Sussex.
Goodwood is the home of Earl March and his family. Set in 12000 acres, it is home to the famous Racecourse, Motor Circuit, Aerodrome, Hotel, Farm,Golf Course  etc, you name it, it is probably there!

 My dream car...the AUDI R8 V10

This morning was the first of the Breakfast Club season.
I love cars. My dream is to own an Audi R8 V10 (top speed over 200mph!) I never will be able to own a new one as they cost approx £140,000 new, but am hoping with my pension pot one day to get a pre -owned one, but in the meantime, I just have to dribble over the ones that belong to someone else :)
I won't bore you with pages of R8 photos but I did want to share with you some photos of Kendal's old boy Fritz....he had a great time and didn't mind the funny looks he got when posing :)

  1. Wow ! I bet Fritz was beside himself with joy at being close and in some of these fabulous cars! He comes from Lady K's stable so likes the good life ;)
I have to say that to me , as long as it gets me from a to b without any hassle , that's good enough in a car for me :))
But even I can see that the Audi V8 A10 looks the bees knees ! I quite like the look of the spider ? cannot remember the make at this moment :)) ( stop spluttering in disgust ) but I've always loved the Morgan , ever since I saw one way back in the 70's in the Kings Rd Chelsea, it was red with a big belt across the hood and that's stayed my dream car ever since, I can even remember it's name!! :))

    1. The Audi R8 comes as a Spyder model (soft top), Porsche 918 Spyder, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari Spyder... there's probably more but I can't think ...any ring a bell? Honest, not spluttering in disgust...giggling a bit though I think the Morgan you are thinking of is the Plus 4 model...now I sound like a petrol head :)

    1. Hi Jen, Thank Bertie (is that really the right word? :)) for his comment ....he has got me rumbled :) Didn't work...nobody swapped Fritz for an R8!!
Seriously though, lovely to hear from you Jen, thanks for taking the time to comment. Fritz is DEFINITELY a KEEPER, I know how much he means to Kendal and I won't let him or Ross (who I have admired for years) go anywhere...it is lovely to have a little Kendal history in my home!! When (?!) I get my R8 I will let your son have a spin in it!! xx

  5. I JUST DON'T BELIEVE IT! Every morning since April 7th I have clocked in here to see that nothing has changed. (I even dropped by yesterday morning...but obviously TOO early.) UNBELIEVEABLE.

How wonderful to see Fritz here and having such a wonderful time. He looks the perfect male to be amongst these beautiful cars with his blonde windswept hair and trendy clothing. I'm filled with pride yet tinged with sadness at our recent parting.

I'm a 'car' person too and in my youth I attended several Formuls 1 race meetings at Siverstone and Oulton Park (although never been to Goodwood) as well as many Classic Car shows and get-togethers.
I've always put my 'car' interest down to my parents who always had good cars which included MGs, Talbots, Triumph Renowns, a RR Silvercloud and various Jags (Father had the Mark 2, 3 and mother the family 7, 8 and 9.) I took my test in one of their Triumph Renowns (also known as the butler's rolls and with the steering wheel gear stick) and which then became my car for several years.
My husband had a Daimler Sovereign, Citron DS, a Mercedes S-class and a Ford Granada over time (although all bought second hand.)

The Audis are superb cars! My sister has the Audi 7 and her husband the 8. Chon and her husband had the TT at one time, so I wish you good luck in owning a Audi R8 V10 and many thanks again for taking Fritz under your wing.
The Brood send you and Ross their love.xx

  6. Hello K! I know how hard it is for you to let your boys and girls go, believe me, I still have mild regrets at letting some of my 'special' boys and girls be re homed over the years, but needs must. I take comfort too, that many are being loved and enjoyed by their new families. So, I aim to let you know through this blog that those I have been able to adopt from you are loved and enjoyed. If Fritz were a real little boy he would have had a ball yesterday...it is not every day you are allowed to sit in a £145,000 car to have your picture taken in the drivers seat...I wasn't invited I just took the picture! Fancy you loving cars too...your parents owned some fantastic models. I love Audi too....Fritz was driven at high speed yesterday morning (when the roads were quite) mostly at 110-115mph in my Audi TT 3.2 V6.....Audis really are the best..Chon has wonderful taste :)
Hope you are okay...boys are fine and send their love to you and the rest of your crew xx

  8. Fritz must have been over the moon to go to such a BOY place - and I have no idea why people gave you funny looks when you took photos of him, he fits in very well and looks so cool.
Of course, folks in Germany also are sometimes a little irritated when they watch me playing dolls. Some even ask what I am doing. But "it's for the internet" always was answer enough - they nod understandingly...
Brilliant photos of brilliant cars and a very stylish little boy!

  10. Ooooh the boy is a happy one! What a great day out for Fritz, he obviously loves cars and felt very at home amongst all that metal, chrome and engine power.
I'm like Dee and as long as it gets me from a to b then I'm happy, but I never used to be like this....I used to love fast cars and always drove that way too, but hey, now I'm just more chilled out than I was :)
Good to see you posting Ronny, keep up the good work!
    xx
