24 Hours later....

So, yesterday I showed you the Sasha Baby waif that turned up at my door.
She was covered in VARNISH so first job was to give her hair a wash...all intact and non falling so that was a bonus!
Then on to cleaning her up. A Sasha doll owner's best friend is a Magic Eraser. It cleans when damp and when dry you can gently rub away any shiny spots on the vinyl especially handy when black dolls mark or bruise...but do be gentle :)
I used Surgical Spirit to dissolve the varnish . It is a Nurse's best friend and I used to use it a lot in my early nursing days  ( not to remove varnish from patients I hasten to add). Then I simply (I say simply it took about an hour to do) rubbed it away with the magic eraser...job done!
And here she is after spending the night wearing a hair net and an old sock on her head.....

Now I have to decide on a name.....any suggestions welcome..but not Flash!

  1. Aw, what a little sweetie! She cleaned up beautifully! I haven't tried one on a doll yet, but I do love the magic eraser. Rarely do I get that enthused about a cleaning product, but they really are super handy around the house.

    1. The magic eraser is a true wonder of the modern world! Coca Cola is also something else I can't live without...not for cleaning but for drinking :)

  2. She's turned out great! Varnie after the varnish you had to remove? Magic? I'm sure you'll find a suitable name :) I need to get me one of those magic erasers, thanks for the tips on using them. :)

  3. Please have you the time to spend 24 hours on doing this to me? It would be most appreciated if I could look like THIS afterwards... with just a general wash, a little Surgical Spirit application followed by a Flash magic eraser treatment.

I think that she should be called 'Bonny' as she looks really bonny now ...or 'Spirit/Sprite' from the use of the Surgical Spirit!
(BTW One of my niece's cats is named Spirit!)

    1. Well done K! Bonny it is! Unfortunately I can't give you a spa treatment with the Magic eraser as a prize :) You have my love and thanks though x

  4. I am hopeless with names but you've certainly done a great job on cleaning this little sweetie up! I am also a great lover of Magic Erasers, they work so well on all sorts of dolls, they're great on resin BJDs too.

  5. What an amazing job! As for a name, all I keep thinking is "sweetie", because she looks so sweet. But, I would NEVER use that as a name--it's ridiculous! Maybe Maeve?
