3D...DOGS, DOLLS AND DISHES...

I love Sasha dolls and Emma Bridgewater  pottery and dogs.
How lucky am I to have all three of my favourite things in my life. Sophie (one of Kendal's girls) is a real favourite of mine...although she is a little worried that she has to help get the  all the dogs breakfasts ready this morning and then do the washing up!

Getting Lippy.....

When you are little you want to be a grown up. Being grown up isn't that much fun sometimes but it does mean you can buy things easier than when you are young. Like dolls....
Problem is, sometimes we just get too many, we confuse want with need....
So, if you could go back to being young again, which one or two dolls from your current collection would you choose...
I have chosen mine....
Miss Lippy.. and Rhett....

I can't even being to describe the joy I felt when she finally arrived from Kendal! I have loved this girl for years and I mean years. I bought Rhett (1968 boy with NP eyes) just in case Lippy came and lived with me as she would need a little brother. I love the faded beauty of these two well loved companions from someones' childhood.
They are truly wonderful to me and many thanks to Kendal for letting me adopt Miss Lippy.
Thanks to Rosie Laird for knitting their sweaters in alpaca wool.Apologies for the grainy photos...my camera is slowing dying on me, I should really buy another but then I see a Sasha...and confuse (yet again!) want with need.....

24 Hours later....

So, yesterday I showed you the Sasha Baby waif that turned up at my door.
She was covered in VARNISH so first job was to give her hair a wash...all intact and non falling so that was a bonus!
Then on to cleaning her up. A Sasha doll owner's best friend is a Magic Eraser. It cleans when damp and when dry you can gently rub away any shiny spots on the vinyl especially handy when black dolls mark or bruise...but do be gentle :)
I used Surgical Spirit to dissolve the varnish . It is a Nurse's best friend and I used to use it a lot in my early nursing days  ( not to remove varnish from patients I hasten to add). Then I simply (I say simply it took about an hour to do) rubbed it away with the magic eraser...job done!
And here she is after spending the night wearing a hair net and an old sock on her head.....

Now I have to decide on a name.....any suggestions welcome..but not Flash!

Ooops! I did it again....

Bear with me......

Fritz and Casey are very excited...today is the day the little Gotzettes get a teddy!
The boys bought just one bear and hoped the little ones would share but decided it wasn't a good idea so after a lot of searching on the internet they managed to get all the toddlers a bear...all 16 of them....

The toddlers were very excited and formed a queue...

First up, are the redhead triplets, the two girls have been re rooted to have longer hair to give a nice variation of the toddlers...I adore toddlers but didn't want to have a group looking all the same ( I can't bear collections of dolls with the same hair colour just different clothes) and with so few variations of toddlers available I had to be inventive!

These group of girls are all Elke toddlers. This variation of toddler has to be the dullest of all with the very short hair so I had these two given longer length hair except for one..she is one of the very first Elke dolls her production number is early...she is the THIRD Elke made, so I couldn't bring myself to get her hair re rooted!

Teddy the toddler (with freckles kindly applied by Shelly) wasn't happy with his tiny bear...he wanted the big one.....

Teddy has decided that this teddy is the one for him!

Many thanks to Fritz and Casey for providing the Steiff bears for all the little Gotzettes, also I must thank Ginny (Passion for Sasha) for making the denim clothing and tee shirts...what would I do without you? Also, many thanks to Alison for her hair styling skills and also to Shelly <3
